If you are an international student looking for a CRICOS-approved course to get a student visa, you might consider the Diploma of Remedial Massage at our Sunshine Coast campus.
At Q Academy, we offer three Diploma of Remedial Massage Programs, which are open to international students. Read on to find out more about the courses…
Advanced Rehab Program
Our Advanced Rehab Program teaches students a range of in-demand skills and advanced treatment options, including remedial TENS, myofascial cupping, kinesiology taping and Thai massage. After successfully completing the course, graduates are allowed to apply for provider numbers with all of the major private health funds. The course is science-based and offers graduates a competitive advantage over other therapists thanks to the inclusion of advanced techniques, which are covered in the program.
If you choose to study the Advanced Rehab Program at Q Academy, you can be confident that you are earning a nationally accredited qualification. Once you have graduated, you will be able to apply for membership with Australia’s leading massage associations, such as ANTA, MMA and AMT. Once you have industry membership, you will be able to offer your clients private healthcare rebates, which is a huge advantage.
If you are interested in studying this program, it is important to note that you will need a sound understating of written and spoken English. The course is delivered on-campus for a duration of 47 weeks — the full-time study load includes two days on-campus and one day of at-home study per week. Sports Therapy Program
Our most extensive Remedial Massage program, our Sports Therapy course is a great option for those would like to embark on a career in sports. The course teaches the skills necessary to provide strength and conditioning coaching, sports training and advanced first aid. The program builds on the Advanced Rehab program, and also incudes some additional sports-related qualifications.
After completing this course, you’ll be a qualified remedial massage therapist. Additionally, you will also receive statements of attainments such as the ACSA Level 1 Strength and Conditioning Coaching and the SIS30813 Certificate III in Sports Trainer.
If you choose to study the Sports Therapy course, you will need to attend two days per week on-campus, as well as some independent at-home study. You will also be required to complete work placement and supervised training hours. As part of the course, you will need to complete 20 hours of practical work at our student clinic, where you will have the opportunity to treat members of the general public.
