22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy
The Highest VET Qualification in the Manual Therapies
Why Study Myotherapy at Q Academy?
You can become an industry-leading Myotherapist at Q Academy by first gaining our HLT52015 Diploma of Remedial Massage (Advanced Rehab) program, and then completing our 22316VIC Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy program. Together, it will take 2.5 years to complete both courses and graduate as a Myotherapist.
The Diploma of Remedial Massage (Advanced Rehab) program costs $14,500 and if eligible, can be fully funded by the Government’s VET Student Loan scheme. The upgrade to Myotherapy would then be $5,100 (inclusive of Dry Needling), bringing the total cost for both qualifications to $19,600. This is, on average, a third of the cost of most University’s Bachelor of Health Science (Myotherapy) programs. The Advanced Diploma qualification is the equivalent to an Associate Degree qualification.
Graduates of Q Academy’s Advanced Diploma of Myotherapy and graduates of any Bachelor of Myotherapy program will both be eligible to obtain provider numbers so that their clients with private health insurance can claim rebates. With Q Academy’s Myotherapy course, graduates having the benefit of potentially saving both time and money, so they can start working in the industry sooner.
Benefits of Becoming a Myotherapist
The industry demand for Myotherapists arose from the need for remedial massage therapists to work with clients presenting with more complex conditions than they were exposed to in their training.
Myotherapy training is based on the rehabilitation of the body’s soft tissue functionality, focusing on the main symptoms that will affect it, such as pain and lack of movement.
Myotherapists are trained in the assessment, treatment, and management of myofascial and joint pain and dysfunction, as well as pain derived from the nervous system. They can utilise a broad skill-set in assessment and treatment modalities including corrective exercise plans.
Myotherapy will give you additional treatment options such as cupping, dry needling, mobilisation techniques, corrective exercise plans and TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation). By having Myotherapy training, the therapist can treat more complex conditions, and allow them to assist a broader range of clients. The therapist’s investment of time and money to advance their knowledge and skill demonstrates to clients their commitment to the industry and their clients – and justifies the increased treatment prices over that of a Remedial Therapist. This outcome is both beneficial for a Myotherapist operating their own small business, and may also improve the employability for therapists working in professional practice.
