Where is the Brisbane Clinic?
You can find us at 100 Brooke St, Fortitude Valley, QLD 4001.
Q Academy Student Clinic Brisbane
$40 for 1 Hour Student Treatment or $70 for 2 Hour Student Treatment.
Q Academy is a leading massage and myotherapy training college. All of our students completing a Nationally Accredited qualification are required to complete a set number of supervised practical training hours, in order to obtain their qualification. To help our students realise their goals of becoming qualified therapists, Q Academy has established a professional Student Clinic. The Student Clinic is a workplace simulated environment, where our students perfect and refine their skills learned throughout their course. Our students are fully supervised by their course coaches who are qualified therapists and trainers and assessors. The student clinic is what helps our students become confident, world-class massage and myotherapists.
Our treatments are discounted as this is a training facility. Please be advised that if you have booked a Remedial Massage, some time will be spent at the beginning of your treatment for your student therapist to conduct assessments and ask questions relating to your current health status or presenting injuries. Our team is greatly appreciative of our clients for their support and involvement, during this important part of our student’s journey to becoming a qualified massage therapist.
What massage services do we provide?
Relaxation Massage
Relaxation Massage you may know as a full-body Swedish Massage. It is the most gentle of our treatment options. Relaxation massage has many proven health benefits, such as improving circulation, relieving tightness, reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep and enhancing flexibility. This is a great treatment option for someone without serious pain, injury or dysfunction, who is just looking to relax and unwind.
Remedial Massage
The Diploma student has a higher level of training and a better understanding and application of functional anatomy. The focus in Remedial Massage is identifying and treating musculoskeletal dysfunctions. This means finding the cause of complaints eg. headaches, neck pain, chronic back pain, pelvic imbalance, or joint pain and correcting any dysfunction. Remedial is a more comprehensive treatment using a wider range of techniques.
Myotherapy
Myotherapy is the highest level of VET training in the manual therapies, where students use the same techniques as Physiotherapists. Students will be able to offer specialised treatment options in Dry Needling, cupping, strapping and taping, prescription of exercise for health and dysfunction and rehabilitation from injury, treatment of muscular dysfunction from physical and emotional stress, and chronic pain management.
